The Ideal Fantasy Football Team

With the lockout now over, the NFL brings many fun things. One main aspect, which has taken the country by storm is Fantasy Football. This season leagues had to start later then usual, because many players were free agents. Now as a fantasy owner, have you ever asked yourself the question: What if I had the first eight picks of the draft? Here is this year’s ideal team.

QB- Tom Brady, New England: All Packers fans can jump off a bridge for all I care. Tom Brady is the best choice for QB this year. Already having two reliable tight ends, a speedy Wes Welker, a good catching RB in Danny Woodhead, they added Chad Ochocinco to the mix which only means for TDs for Brady. Brady does well with speed, and that is what Ochocinco brings. With a chip on his shoulder after a divisional exit last year, expect greatness from Brady.

RB- Arian Foster, Houston: We will touch on Adrian Peterson, but Arian Foster came out of the wood work last year with a bang. 1,616 rushing and 604 receiving yards to go along with 18 TD convinces me. What people tend to forget is that Foster did this in a year which Houston underachieved, which only means better things in a better year. If you want receiving and rushing yards the do the right thing… pick Arian Foster.

WR- Roddy White, Atlanta and Andre Johnson, Houston- Plain and simple, White and Matt Ryan have become one of the most dangerous combinations in the league. White and Ryan together led Atlanta to the best regular season the Falcons have had in a while. With Tony Gonzalez getting older, Ryan will rely on White even more. Even with Julio Jones now in the mix, the rookie needs to earn the catches, before taking away the touches from White. Andre Johnson seems to make career numbers every year, even when he gets injured. Sometimes he only plays 13 games or so, but Johnson makes up for it when he has HUGE days. The same goes with Johnson as it did Foster, better year better stats. Johnson and White are the picks at WR.

FLEX- Adrian Peterson, Minnesota- I am a hard believer in the fact that with McNabb now under center, that Peterson will become an even better player. Peterson will always be criticized for not being able to hold onto the ball, but at the same time he is too powerful to pass up. Peterson’s hard head and knack for the end zone will be a major pick in the drafts this year. Like I said, with McNabb under center he will become better because he loves to throw to running backs. Don’t worry about fumbles, he will make up for it with other points.

TE- Antonio Gates, San Diego- Despite late season injuries Antonio Gates had another dominant year. Being Philip Rivers main target pays off. Gates has not shown any down grade as the years have gone on, and don’t expect him to this year. What works in Gates favor is that Vincent Jackson is back, meaning no more double teams for the main target. Gates will have another top year, mark my words.

K- Stephen Gostkowski, New England- Hate picking kickers, but plain and simple he is accurate and plays for a team who is in opposition territory constantly. Him or Mason Crosby are the pick at kicker, don’t pick Nick Folk.

DEF- New York Jets- Rex Ryan predicts Super Bowl again, and he will live and die by the defense. Being defensive minded the Jets have ton of play makers on this side of the ball. With Antonio Chromartie now being the kick returner as well, expect plenty of special team touchdowns. Don’t forget about the best corner back in the game either, as Revis island will be open for rent starting Week 1.
